Mudita Sports is the first company to combine modern educational theory, mobile technology and sports content to take learning languages to a whole new level. The company partnered with world-renowned football clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City to provide people with a unique opportunity to study languages together with their favorite football players. Mudita Sports reached out to Digiteum to build apps for learning languages based on this idea and bring this project to life.

Digiteum team was assigned to provide app development services and build apps for language learning using the client’s design as well as create a custom white-label app builder with a practical web CMS and an editor to manage app content, replicate applications and scale them up to other languages. The team was responsible for all the core decisions concerning mobile app architecture, as well as feature prioritization, project management and product launch. In a little more than a half-year, Digiteum has successfully developed and delivered two functional apps — Go and Learn with Arsenal and Go and Learn with Man City — and provided the client with a convenient tool to manage their applications and easily create new ones.

This is a vivid example of using gamification and unique content to make learning languages engaging, captivating and highly motivating.

Both apps are built as a sequence of interactive games that allow users to learn and master their language skills topic by topic and earn scores as they progress. With their favorite football players as tutors, users complete quizzes, expand their vocabulary and win awesome digital rewards such as badges, signed player cards and hi-res football posters — exclusive content provided by the partner football clubs. Language quizzes are blended with football-related games that help users learn unique facts about their sports heroes. Every topic ends with a virtual football match that helps review and consolidate new knowledge and skills. Using in-app reports and statistics, users can track their progress, check their performance and decide how to redeem their scores.

Go and Learn with Arsenal and Go and Learn with Man City apps offer simple onboarding and registration via email, Facebook or Apple and a quick switch to starting a language course and choosing topics.

Both apps are multilingual. Users can learn French and Spanish from English and improve English skills from Spanish, Arabic and French. Soon, the Japanese will be available too. In addition, the apps’ interface implies localization and adjusts according to the specifics of certain languages (text direction, word wrapping, etc.).

Integrated with Google Translation services, the apps provide both text and audio content and allow users to not only improve grammar but also practice listening comprehension exercises and master pronunciation.
